Let the energy rain down on me

To begin,

Since my attunement, my perceptions and attitudes about life have been shaken to the core. My intuition and sense of Self have been amplified. Within a weeks time I have discovered parts of my being that were unknown, or long forgotten.

For the last week and a half I have been working on my routines. Meditation and Reiki self work either mornings before my day begins, or while winding down for the night. Using a combination of breathing and reciting the Reiki principles I have been able to more easily guide myself into trance.

I have been reading Living the Reiki Way by Penelope Quest. Very good book on a more personal understanding and experience with Reiki. But, she describes how to do a "Reiki Shower". Definitely worth it.

So, the purpose of the "shower" is to clear negative energies from your ethereal body and heal the physical one we inhabit. Very cleansing and calming for when you need a boost. It's really pretty easy and allows for a much better sense of how the energy flows during healing.

Here is the process as explained in the book:

  1. Stand or sit and make yourself comfortable. Place your hands in the gassho (prayer) position with your palms together, fingers pointing upward. Do this while focusing on your breathing and intention of carrying out a Reiki Shower.
  2. Separate your hands and lift them above your head as high as possible, keeping them about 12-15 inches apart. As you feel the ki building up between your hands turn your palms downward so they are facing the top of your head.
  3. Visualize ki flowing out of your hands and intend that you be receiving a shower of Reiki energy, which flows over and through your whole physical and energy body, cleansing you and removing any negative energy or emotions.
  4. When you sense the vibration of the ki energy flowing over and through you move your hands, palms still facing towards you, and begin to draw them slowly down over your face and body. Still keeping your hands about 12-15 inches away from your body. Intend that Reiki be flowing from your hands and continuing to cleanse and revitalize you as you draw your hands all the way down your body, down your legs to your feet. Then eventually turning your palms to the floor and either touching the ground or gently throwing the energy off your hands so that any negative energy flows out and into the Earth below for transformation.
  5. Repeat the exercise a few times - 3 the recommended ideal - and you should feel cleansed, calmed and relaxed.
  6. Place your hands together again in the gassho position and spend a few moments experiencing gratitude for the Reiki and then finish. You may find it helpful to clap your hands once or twice to help you return to a more wakeful state if you feel a bit spacey.

Now this was just cool! Once I had reached my mind state and began to let the energy flow down over me it did in fact feel like a shower. (One thing to be conscious of that isn't mentioned in the process, though it is good standard practice when channeling Reiki, is keep your fingers held together firmly. The difference in flow was noticeable.) The process lasted about 15 minutes or so, and is definitely becoming a regular thing!
